The fifth conference “Destination Europe” was held on December 12 and 13 in San Francisco. The event, co-organized by the European Commission and Member States promoted the European Union as a destination for pursuing scientific careers and investments related to innovation and advanced technologies. A major part of the conference program consisted of sessions presenting the research potential and attractiveness of Member States in five scientific areas : Health and Biosciences; Geophysics and Ocean Science; Information and Communication Technologies; Physics and Materials; Environment and Climate Change.
